No updates for Networking & Social Media Job Search Webinars, Teleconferences and Podcasts . Judging from the hashtag twitter traffic and the heads-down phone-illuminated-faces I saw in the crowd there was a high social-media user ratio. That gathering planted the seeds for what has become a nationwide social movement called French Tuesdays! Send me your new, updated, or reviews of networking events and organizations. The Notable & Where I'm Going... Tell them you heard about it from Todd's blog! I'll be speaking (yes, yours truly) on “Effective Networking for Entrepreneurs” at the GroundUP Business Group 's Tuesday, March 9th 7-8:30pm, at Zephyr Coffee House, 2419 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107 .

To underscore the point about entrepreneurs coming out of LA-based companies, there is a growing diaspora of talented former MySpace/Intermix executives who have gone on to found or build other companies all over the southland: Richard Rosenblatt (Demand Media), Brett Brewer (AdKnowledge), Josh Berman and Colin Digiaro (Slingshot Labs), Jason Feffer (SodaHead), Adam Goldenberg and Don Ressler (Intelligent Beauty), Amit Kapur (Gravity), and so forth. It will be exciting to see what they can accomplish, but I think its challenging to get the same level of exposure in tech business media

On Facebook (and nearly all social networks that preceded it) the relationship was always reciprocal – if I accept your invitation to follow me then I have to follow you. Many of the initial commentators (at least when I signed up for Twitter in April 2007) seemed to talk about it as a “microblogging” platform where people like Robert Scoble were free to tell quick thoughts about what was going on in the world in real time vs. This post is part of my ongoing series Twitter 101 for all those that still “don’t get” Twitter. I’m now moving from the 101 basics into the business

One of the most tweeted sites at the search engine optimization panel at Social Media Club LA on Wednesday night wasn’t one offering analytics or SEO tools–it was kirtsy, a social bookmarking site. Now, I know plenty of women who use and enjoy Digg, both for getting content and for making their content available, but if there is one place where kirtsy transcends the popular social bookmarking site, it’s in its categories.
You asked, so we answered: here’s why we are digging kirtsy.
They call kirtsy the woman’s answer to Digg.
