pint in my career as getting you know credibility of the web was starting to rise but I was still getting the credibility from being on a TV show and the experience so when that ended in 2008 I ended up going to reels channel which is a movie network and the midst of all this I met mike macadin from twist up and that to be honest that was a huge thing to me because I started hosting a lot of these tech mix shows and it really got me involved with the tech community here in la as we know and it was just starting up so I had these two streams going kinda these more mainstream streams going and

Leah Culver was a co-founder and the lead developer of the social network and micro-blogging website Pownce, which was acquired by blog juggernaut Six Apart in November 2008. Mixergy fan, Jeff Hurano, emailed me and he said, "Andrew, you've got to tell peolpe they can narrow down their search by budget." And I am so grateful that I have the founder of Pownce here with me on Mixergy to answer some of the tough questions We talked about more than Pownce and Twitter in this interview. You can watch the video on Mixergy , or download the audio of it (below) and listen on your iPod/iPhone/etc. Exclusively for Mixergy.com, Christel Hyden shot video of Seth Godin’s live presentation of the ideas in his new book, Tribes. They really need to take a look at how Twiistup , Mixergy and others are doing to both promote and help make their events better for attendees. A while ago I posted about Secret for Networking at Events - Prenetworking where I recommended that people should look at who's attending the event prior to going to the event in order to make their networking more effective. I've received a lot of positive feedback on the post.
On Monday, September 22, we did the Mixergy Viral Forum , and brought in experts to teach how any site can get more traffic by using viral marketing techniques. Here’s a recap of the event. Speakers: Otis Chandler - Founder, Goodreads ( LinkedIn | Twitter | Goodreads )
Alana Semuels, tech writer at the LA Times, taught this at the Mixergy PR Forum . I’m sick of the usual interviews with Tim Ferriss , which waste time arguing over whether it’s possible to work four hours a week. What I want to know is how Tim got so many people to talk about him and his book, The Four Hour Work Week , and how he made his book into a New York Times Best Seller.
When Timothy Ferriss came on Mixergy , he said meeting bloggers in person at conferences helped make his book a New York Times Best Seller. She wrote about it in Once You’re Lucky, Twice You’re Good , the book she talked about at this Mixergy event . Copy a badge - I promised not to reveal his name, but a guest I met at a Mixergy event told me that he gets into top conferences by photocopying his friends’ When Craig heard that, he brought up a good point. What if you’re a startup and can’t pay for a ticket?
Many of the people I interviewed on Mixergy have told you to find a niche–target bird-lovers, for example. (Can’t see video? Try it on YouTube.) When Bob Dunlap of ClickBank told me that one of his clients made $500,000 last year selling an ebook about how to attract humming birds to your home, I had to interview him.
called up Kevin Fischer and Ed Weissman because they’re two of the top users of a site that was sending Mixergy a lot of traffic, and I wanted to learn how to get more. And at the Mixergy Viral Forum, Jason Nazar of docstoc did an experiment to show us how giving away a document can grow a Twitter community. I didn’t get what I was looking for from this interview, but I think what I learned is even better. I
Here’s an interview I recently did with him: “Right click” here to download Mixergy intervie I wasn’t allowed to record the talk that Tony Hsieh, CEO of Zappos, gave on Sunday. The group that invited him to speak wanted to keep the conversion intimate and private. In fact, I’m not sure I’m allowed to even tell you the group’s name.
Mixergy celebrated the growth of Magento last night–their ecommerce platform has been downloaded over 500,000 times. I think these guys are going to do for ecommerce what Wordpress did for blogging. If you don’t know about them, go see how they’re helping web sites sell .
We talked about this technique a little at the Mixergy Viral Forum . Over the past year, bloggers and entrepreneurs have studied Gary Vaynerchuk so they too could build killer online businesses and maybe even become famous . AJ Vaynerchuk has been studying Gary since he was a little boy. Now AJ is using many of the social media techniques that his
