The Lance Armstrong Foundation and Demand Media, which is headed by former MySpace Chairman and Intermix CEO Richard Rosenblatt, inked a deal back in January of 2008 for Demand to create and run LiveStrong.com. Cyclist Lance Armstrong will be providing updates to his bike race at the upcoming Giro D'Italia race this weekend on Livestrong.com, as U.S. television broadcasters are declining to cover the event broadly this weekend.

Santa Monica-based Slingshot Labs , the startup incubator headed by MySpace co-founders Josh Berman and Colin Digiaro, officially rolled out its first web site this morning, DailyFill . The firm said the site has been in beta since late November 2008. According to the firm, which is a division of News Corporation, the new site will cater to "celebrity-obsessed" audiences and provide celebrity news, fashion, and pop-culture information. The new site is the latest in what seems to be a surge of celebrity-focused content sites.

Los Angeles-based MySpace said today that independent music distributor IODA will provide its catalog to MySpace music. According to MySpace, the partnership with IODA--the Independent Online Distribution Alliance--will add over one million new songs to its platform. IODA is a digital distribution company which helps record labels negotiate licenses, encode data, and track royalties. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
