Every web product ultimately has a bunch of user flows contained within it. There are many many layers of incremental improvements you can make here - but the toughest nut to crack, in the case where your web product is HUGE is that you will be inserting more data into the system than the system can process within a reasonable time.

Borrow a badge - Writer Sarah Lacy borrowed a speaker’s badge for the Web 2.0 When Timothy Ferriss came on Mixergy , he said meeting bloggers in person at conferences helped make his book a New York Times Best Seller. When Craig heard that, he brought up a good point. What if you’re a startup and can’t pay for a ticket?

They make a web-based community feel real. Can you imagine having a community of fans that’s so passionate about what you’re doing that they tattoo your image on their bodies? Google's new Ad Manager technology will soon enable premium ad banners to be sold directly to advertisers by publishers and when the clicks are used up on the premium ads it will revert automatically to use Google Adsense. This is a brilliant move and will further accelerate the gap between premium content and generic publishers who don't provide any unique content value. I

After he launched Alltop, people started emailing Guy web sites that he should include on the site. I think Guy Kawasaki felt I was being a jerk when I pressed him about whether he was following the advice in his own book, Reality Check , at his new company Alltop . But Guy is amazingly open and he really does live the ideas in his book.
