Valeant said the Brazilian firm has annual sales of approximately $19M in 2009, mainly in the dermatology business. Valeant said the buy will advance its dermatolog presence in the Brazilian market. ...Tags: Aliso Viejo-based Valeant Pharmaceuticals announced today that it is in an agreement to buy a Brazilian manufaturer of branded, generic and over the counter pharmaceuticals. Pasadena-based Genmark Diagnostics , a developer of a diagnostic biomarker detection system, has filed for an IPO, saying it is looking to raised up to $46.0M The firm said it is looking to trade as GNMK.

Los Angeles-based Everbridge , a provider of incident notification systems, said Thursday that the firm had record growth in 2009. The privately held firm did not disclose actual financials, or break out 2009's growth numbers, however, it said it had an average annual growth rate of over 130 percent over the last three years. The company said the emergency/mass notification market grew by 29 percent in 2009, according to numbers from Gartner. The firm explained that it was in one of the industries that has experienced growth over the last few years, despite the economy, and that it also did better than its competitors.
