Agoura Hills-based video game maker THQ said Wednesday afternoon that it is laying off around 60 employees, as part of a reorganization of its Juice Games and Rainbow Studios development studios. Agoura Hills-based video game maker THQ announced this morning that it has "substantially completed" its latest business realignment, which will save the firm $220M in annual costs. Tags: video game studio content employment jobs layof THQ announced in February that it was cutting 600 people, or 24 percent of the workforce. THQ said that it will record approximately $45M in business realignment expenses for its fiscal 2009 fourth quarter, plus approximately $41M in impairment charges related to cancellation of titles and studio closures.

Agoura Hills-based video game maker THQ said late Wednesday that it is cutting 250 employees, or 17% of its staff, after reporting disappointing results. THQ said it would undertake a "significant" business realignment as its looks to focus on fewer, higher quality titles. The firm said it is cancelling several titles under development, closing five studios, and reducing approximately 250 people and streamlining its corporate organization.
