Los Angeles-based Break Media said Wednesday that it is expanding the number of video advertising options the site offers. Los Angeles-based Break Media announced this morning that it has acquired FileFront , an online site focused on gaming news and downloads. According to Break Media, it will be investing "significantly" in the editorial on FileFront, and will use the acquisition to add additional premium gaming content to its site. Break Media said that FileFront has over 9 million monthly unique visitors, and runs Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. FileFront was founded in December of 2001, and was created by I/O Error Development.

Los Angeles-based Break Media , the online media firm run by Keith Richman, said this morning that it is expanding into social gaming, with the launch of its own game studio. Break said its Shanghai game studio is working on half a dozen titles for the firm, and is headed by Alex Lein, former COO of Chinese game development firm Winking Entertainment. According to Break, the new site will focus on product reviews, including "gadgets, gears, fashion, sports, and more." The new property will be managed by Break Media VP Jonathan Small. According to Break, the deal calls for Clearleap to include a part of Break's video library in Clearleap's Content Marketplace, which is used by cable and IPTV providers for serving up their video on demand programming. Los Angeles-based Break.com has launched a new lampoon of the micro-messaging service Twitter, saying Wednesday afternoon that it has launched Tweet Boxx , a weekly online web series hosted by "Man in the Box" star Mike Polk. Polk joined Break Media when it acquired HBOLabs last year. Break is headed by Keith Richman.
