Los Angeles-based MySpace , under fire for selling its user data, said today that it is not selling its data. MySpace said that the data has been available through the MySpace Developer Platform, and allows software to pull publicly available, real-time data such as status updates, or when a user adds music, photos, or videos to their profile. Updates for users on Los Angeles-based MySpace 's social networking service are now being indexed by Google in real-time, according to Mike Jones , Co-President of MySpace. Jones said Tuesday in a blog post that the implementation of the firm's MySpace Real-Time Search API went live on Google today, so that live updates form its users--including news, photos, and blog posts--are shown as part of search results on Google's search engine.

I wouldn’t bet against MySpace . I know many of their founders and early employees, and one of the co-founders of Intermix (the parent company of MySpace) is an investor. MySpace has lost the battle as the “place for friends”. The following are my 7 Ways on How to Save MySpace

Before you run off and start using Drupal be aware that although it is definitely suitable for many small to medium web sites, configuring and using it is significantly more difficult than WordPress and it does not yet scale to the level of MySpace or Facebook. For little while now I have been dabbling in the open source content management framework Drupal . Drupal promises ( in time) to allow practically anyone to be able to set up and mange complex social web sites with more features than a swiss army knife.

Yesterday she was chosen out of 5 finalist candidates as the winner of the annual “ MySpace Citizen Journalist ” competition. She’ll get to travel next week to the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland as a special correspondent for MySpace , The Wall Street Journal and the World Economic Forum . As a part of the Davos press corps she will be using the MySpace platform to report on conference news and interview Even though Sloane Berrent has moved out of Los Angeles and relocated to New Orleans, we still consider her one of us. Congrats

Santa Monica-based Demand Media , the social media firm headed by former MySpace Chairman Richard Rosenblatt, said this morning that it has made a minority investment in Toronto-based CoveritLive .
