And, of course, if you have the Founder Developer Gap, then you might want to consider getting help. Signs of a High Performing Team Going at this another way … Christope Louvion, a fellow member of the Los Angeles CTO Forum , wrote a blog post on Signs of a high performing team a high service level and availability of their product/system a high throughput of effective change a low amount of unplanned

There are 7 Ways to Get (unpaid) Traffic on the Web , in no weighted order they are:
Wikipedia and About are two of the most popular sites on the web, but the majority of their traffic comes from referrals from search engines, not people going directly to their site. Referring Traffic / Press - The web is interconnected, and traffic flows among sites that interlink. “If You Build It…They Will Come” may work for historical baseball ghosts, but it’s not a strategy you can rely on when starting an internet company. Driving traffic to your website is a formula

You can't read, view or listen to any news media channel (Web mostly of course because mainstream old news media pretty much discounts Web 2.0 but I digress) without seeing articles/blogs relating to social networking, VC "overheated fundings ", communities of millions run by kids at Starbucks, and "how many people follow me on Twitter when I say I am going to bathroom." Web 2.0 and vice versa...just just like viewers ignore Katie Couric ...

Just the kind of person I like to meet. :) But I was a bit surprised when he emphasized how hard it had been for them to find a web developer in Los Angeles. My flippant comment was, “If you do a Google search for Los Angeles web developer, you’ll find a LOT of people and firms.” His response was that he had done exactly that, but that the long list is not all that useful. Web design typically refers to Yesterday, I met with someone at the early stage of a startup. He has a great concept with some complexity to it.

But it was not until the last couple years that I updated my skills and capabilities in web development. They have a custom implementation of CPanel, so it is really easy to add a domain, install and upgrade dozens of popular free and open source web apps like Wordpress or Drupal with just a couple of clicks with Fantastico. It includes the LAMP stack ( Linux OS , Apache web server , MySQL database , and PHP ) which any worthwhile web hosting is going to provide, I first started messing around with HTML in DreamWeaver and Claris Home Page around 1999 to put up my own music website.

On December 2nd, 2006 I wrote the blog post published later in this post when I was CEO of startup Koral about my experiences in pitching VCs. After my company was acquired by Salesforce.com I was asked to stop blogging and they took over my blog as an asset in the sale of the company. My blog was wiped out. I am very grateful to my friend Zoli Erdos for finding this retro posting for me at web.archive.org.

This is that post. Value of Blogging I started the presentation talking about the value of blogging. But rather than believing me, listen to Tom Peters and Seth Godin: . Seth Godin Doesn't matter if anyone reads it. What matters is the metacognition of thinking about what you are going to say. How do you force yourself to describe in three paragraphs why you did something. You are doing it for yourself to become part of the conversation even if it's very small. Tom Peters No single thing in the last 15 years professionally

I've somewhat fallen off the map on this blog. One of my recent fun experiences was doing a presentation at Harvard Business School (HBS) on the implications of Web 2.0 type tools (Blogs, Wikis, Social Bookmarking, RSS, RSS Readers) on corporate learning and someone like HBS. Been traveling and consulting with a bunch of early-stage and growth companies. Really fun stuff these days.
