Hollywood-based Buzz Media the venture backed content, media, and community site, has made more cuts , this time at the firm's Idolator blog. Buzznet bought music blog Idolator in April of last year. Tags: buzz media buzznet employment jobs layoff blog blogging idolator music conten According to a post by one of its editors earlier this month, the site has cut "pretty much all" of Idolator's contributing writers, including columnists and daily bloggers. The cuts came despite--or perhaps because of--a recent venture round the firm raised in March.

Santa Monica-based Mahalo, the search and news site run by Jason Calacanis, has cut 10 percent of the firm's staff, Calacanis said in a post on his blog Wednesday. Calacanis said that the moves were due to a "challenging economic environment." According to Calacanis, the firm is "fairly certain" that advertising for the next two years will be "severely depressed."
Hollywood-based, music-related blog and content firm Buzznet has reportedly cut employees, according to a report from Digital Music News. According to the publication, citing a representative of the firm, Buzznet has eliminated 10 employees, from a total of 89 staff. This publication has not yet confirmed the cuts with the firm.
Uber developed software used to upload, organize, and share content through a free web site; the site also provided photo galleries, slide shows, videos, and blogs. Los Angeles-based Uber, the online social networking web site run by former Friendster CEO Scott Sassa, has shut down. According to the firm's web site, as of September 29, the firm's investors have decided to stop supporting the site, and the company has closed its doors.
