Costa Mesa-based Emulex has deepened its ties with IBM, saying today that it is providing its OneConnect network adapters into five of IBM's enterprise-class and high volume servers. Emulex said its adapter will be offered by IBM on its System x3650 M3, x3550 M3, x3850 X5, x3950 X5 and x3690 X5; and three IBM BladeCenter server platforms, including the HS22, HS22V and HX5. Expected shipment volumes and financial impact of the deal was not disclosed.

Seattle-based startup Earth Class Mail has landed in Los Angeles, saying Monday that the firm has opened up shop on Santa Monica Boulevard for the firm's Internet mail service. San Diego-based Qualcomm said this morning that the firm has been granted a motion to dismiss a consumer, class action lawsuit against the firm. The company said the United States District Court for the Southern District of California has granted the firm's motion to dismiss a class action lawsuit from Christopher Lorenzo, which had claimed antitrust violations and unfair competition by the company. Pasadena-based online dating site eHarmony has settled a class action lawsuit over its lack of support for gay, lesbian, and bisexual individuals, the firm reported Tuesday evening. eHarmony said that as part of the settlement, all claims will be dismissed, and it will create a $2M settlement fund, with $500,000 of that fund to be designed for claims by the class, with any unclaimed portion of the fund to be donated to a charity designated by the court.
