We did a founder “eHarmony” where I matched the CEO’s with their chosen mentors and each one mapped to a one VC. We 1 of the companies was sold (FlipGloss), 11 of the companies received funding, and one of the companies is profitable and has decided not to raise outside capital. The Adam Lilling , founder of BiggerBoat (backed by First Round Capital and Tim Draper) and Pentagon Music (acquired by Virgin) and Joshua Roth Today we announced Launchpad LA V2 .

Studenmund also serves on the boards of Orbitz, eHarmony, Western Asset, and was on the baord of aQuantive before its acquisition by Microsoft. Passenger is venture backed by Shelter Capital Partners, StarVest Partners and Steamboat Ventures. Los Angeles-based Passenger , which operates online communities for major brands, said today that it has named Jaynie Miller Studenmund to the firm's board of directors. Studenmund is an advisor focused on startups, rapid growth, turnaround, and merger and acquisition, and was previously Chief Operating Officer at Overture.

Pasadena-based online dating site eHarmony said today that it has inked a partnership with AOL, on AOL Personals, an online dating service. According to eHarmony, it will bring its scientific matchmaking to AOL Personals, through promotion on AOL's sites, a dedicated "eHarmony Boutique", and dating advice. Southern California's venture capital industry isn't just content and media, but is gaining a reputation for companies who "actually know how to make money,"--or so says Highland Capital's Richard de Silva. Speaking on a panel on Venture Capital in Hollywood at AlwaysOn's OnHollywood conference yesterday, de Silva said he's now seeing repeat entrepeneurs coming out of Southern California who are just as good, if not savvier about real businesses, as Silicon Valley. de Silva, who is a General Partner at Highland based out of its Menlo Park offices, pointed specifically to companies like LowerMyBills, eHarmony, and MySpace.
