Aliso Viejo-based 3Tera , a developer of cloud computing services and software, is being acquired by CA , CA announced today. According to CA, it will use the acquisition to expand its portfolio of solutions to manage cloud computing. 3Tera develops products which allow companies to provision and deploy private cloud computing. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. 3Tera was headed by Barry X Lynn.

Santa Barbara-based Eucalyptus , which develops open source, cloud computing management software, has linked with a developer of scaling software for the Java programming language, Terracotta, the firms said Tuesday. According to Terracotta and Eucalyptus, the two will provide tighter integration between their respective software, and also engage in joint sales and marketing. Santa Barbara-based cloud computing software firm RightScale announced today that the firm is partnering with a number of other software providers to deliver business intelligence software on its cloud management platform. RightScale said its software can automatically configure the software from those vendors, deploy it into the cloud. RightScale said it is unveiling the new product with Jaspersoft, Talend, and Vertica, which integrates technology from those firms for the business intelligence market. Aliso Viejo-based 3Tera , a developer of cloud computing software and services, announced Thursday that the firm has upgraded its AppLogic cloud computing platform. 3Tera's software is used to manage virtual data center services, including deploying web applications and storage.
Tags: 3tera cloud computing application According to the firm, the updated platform includes automated diagnostics and self-healing features, including ability to monitor and detect hard drives issues; automatic volume repair; improved server isolation; and soft restarts of the system.

Now entrepreneurs can write some code and purchase bandwidth, encoding, storage and many other services in bite sizes at a fraction of the cost and time. Companies like RightScale (Santa Barbara company recently funded by Benchmark) are providing a critical management console for cloud computing services to insure availability and reliability. Encoding, Storage, Load Balancing and many other web infrastructure services are now all accessible to just about any businesses in bite sizes.

Santa Barbara-based Eucalpytus Systems , the venture funded startup developing open source, private cloud management software, said Thursday that it has released its first major update of its software. According to the firm, the updated software now includes multi-cluster support, better scaling, and new monitoring capabilities. Aliso Viejo-based 3Tera , a provider of cloud computing services and technology, said this week that it has rolled out a new marketplace for production-ready software. According to 3Tera, its new 3Tera AppStore will allow enterprise users, software vendors, and others to sell production-ready cloud components, based on its cloud computing services. 3Tera runs a service which The firm said the new marketplace will allow companies to offer components such as pre-configured web servers, databases, and applications along with datacenter infrastructure such as firewalls and switches to others.

Santa Barbara-based Eucalyptus , the UCSB spinout which is developing cloud computing software, said today that the firm has linked into a number of partners, including AppScale, Canonical, CohesiveRT, RightScale, rPath, and Ylastic. All of those partners are supporting Eucalyptus through their respective software packages. Eucalyptus develops software which can be used to implement cloud computing within companies. The firm's software is API compatible with Amazon AWS, the public cloud computing offering from Amazon.

Santa Barbara-based RightScale , a developer of cloud computing software, has linked with a London developer of enterprise content management software, Alfresco Software, the two said this week. According to the firms, they are using RightScale's software-as-a-service cloud management product to implement, manage, and scale Alfresco's open source content management software in the cloud.
