Los Angeles-based Magento Commerce , a developer of open source, e-commerce software tools, has raised $22.5M Tags: magento venture capital commerce ecommerce software shopping open sourc in an equity funding round, according to a regulatory filing by the firm today. Source of the new funding was not disclosed.

Bay area venture capital firm Mayfield Fund appears to be eyeing more investments in the Los Angeles area, with the addition of Sean Moriarty , the former CEO of Ticketmaster, as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the firm. According to Mayfield, it added Sean Moriarty--along with Neopath Networks Rajeev Chawla--as an EIR at the firm, specifically to evaluate companies in the consumer, e-commerce and new mobile applications area. City of Industry-based NewEgg , the Los Angeles area e-commerce firm, told its users today that it has added a new, same-day shipping option for customers who live near its three main distribution centers. Los Angeles-based Stamps.com is furthering its focus on online stories, saying today that it has linked its product to the e-commerce payment systems for Amazon.com Pro Merchant, Yahoo Merchant, Google Checkout, and Paypal. According to Stamps.com, the firm's software now allows web store managers to process, manage, and ship orders from "virtually any" e-commerce source.
