The DEMO conference announced the lineup of 65 companies that will share their products and value propositions to the technology community at DEMO Spring 2010 on March 21-23 in Palm Desert, California.
Judging by the companies he has selected to launch on the DEMO stage he certainly is off to a great start.
DEMO has also brought back the Alpha Pitch program that features DEMO has officially started today and we will be there starting tomorrow. For For DEMOfall 2009 we pretty much hit it on the nose for the DEMOgod award winners , let's see if we can nail it again this year.

Our response was that there was no “price” as our company was not for sale. In 1987, a representative of Michael Jackson approached the modest Sycamore Valley ranch house and knocked on the door. The owner of the ranch was shocked by the visitor’s message.

Santa Barbara-based Sonos , which develops multi-room, digital music systems, confirmed today that it has raised $25M in a Series C round of funding. The funding came from Index Ventures, with Mike Volpi of Index joining the company's board of directors as part of the funding. Sonos makes an easy-to-use digital music system which plays music throughout multiple rooms in a home. READ MORE>>

The last direct flight from Santa Barbara to Silicon Valley, on a route run by SkyWest Airlines, is being discontinued, according to reports. SkyWest Airlines has informed Santa Barbara Airport officials that it plans to discontinue direct flights to San Jose in June, due to lack of demand. The news was first reported by local Santa Barbara publication the Daily Sound. The Santa Barbara to San Jose flights were popular among the many high tech companies located in the Santa Barbara area. SkyWest also runs a nonstop

Santa Barbara-based AppFolio , a developer of software-as-a-service for property management, is announcing today that it has raised $8M in additional funding for the firm. The funding comes from the Investment Group of Santa Barbara (IGSB). Appfolio said the funding round brings the company's total raised to $30M. the firm has previously also raised capital from Cisco Systems and BV Capital, in addition to the Investment Group of Santa Barbara. The company said the new funding will go to accelerate its growth.

Citrix Systems , a provider of enterprise infrastructure software based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, said Wednesday that the firm is reducing its headcount by approximately 10 percent--and has laid off staff at the firm's Santa Barbara Unit, Citrix Online. According to sources, the firm has provided notice to people in its Santa Barbara office about the cuts. A spokesperson for Citrix confirmed the cuts Friday evening.

EI Solutions, the solar integration startup backed by Pasadena-based Idealab, has scored a win in the City of Santa Barbara. According to Tioga Energy, a renewable energy services provider, and EI Solutions, the two are building and funding a 384 kW DC solar electric system for Santa Barbara. The firms said the system will be installed on roof space on the City of Santa Barbara's corporation yard at Garden and Laguna streets.
