As I listened to Jerry tell stories of the people he worked with, I kept noticing that the founders who made it big were building companies that were a part of who they were as people. Before Seth was a famous marketing guru Jerry invested in his company. On the other hand, Jerry told us about an entrepreneur who he didn't fund because when Jerry asked him why he wanted to start a company, the guy This interview is full of stories of successful entrepreneurs because Jerry Colonna has invested in or worked with some of the best of them.
Take Seth Godin for example.

There’s also a good post from last week by Jason Calcanis of Mahalo, What to do if your Startup is About to Fail. Even though we may not agree with his explanation and apology for this recent mis-step, I can vouch for the quality of his advice having been on the other side of the table in a number of startups.

asked Wil to come to Mixergy to teach his online sales techniques, and to talk about his latest company, Affordit.com .
With Go Big, it's just not easy to replicate twenty thousand investors or two hundred and fifty thousand startups. But if I separate the two and all of a sudden I see a 100 people again sign up but only 10 people pay, I've isolated exactly what the problem is.
When my friend Wil Schroter builds web sites, he's more concerned with attracting revenue than eyeballs. When we get together in person, I like talking to him about how he builds revenue-generating sites

We’ve put an email into the production company for more information. Now that his startup Mahalo has gone user-gen, Jason has A LOT more time on his hands. He has already started to produce his own online weekly show “ This Week in Startups ” and would make a perfect Trump. As reported by Variety , a Twitter-themed television show is now under development. It’s being described as “putting ordinary people on the trail of celebrities in a revolutionary competitive format.”

Send them your reel, see if they'll pick you up.
But in the meantime, start your blog, your personality-driven site. Find Start blogging consistently - maybe not everyday. Make Do videos whether they're set up, or maybe on the go.
What I admire about Shira Lazar is that she's too much of a go-getter to wait for the perfect TV gig to come to her. I've watched her build her reputation and fan-base using new media tools like Qik, Wordpress and Twitter.

Mark helped launch 4 startups, including SuperSig, which was a disaster and Mahalo , a rising star.
He knew that a behemoth like Time Warner was no place to grow an innovative startup. When it was over, Homer Luther, Mark’s investor, sent him a note congratulating him for fighting long after everyone else gave up. I asked Mark Jeffrey for an interview because I knew he’d be open with me about the periods in entrepreneurship when things fall apart and you feel like there’s no way out. Network by evangelizing

Co-founder Gregg Spiridellis came to Mixergy to tell you how he and his brother Evan built their company.
If you’re running an internet company, this story will inspire you AND teach you how to hustle for every piece of business.
The vision for JibJab was to take advantage of the fact that production costs were falling significantly and distribution was opening up to build a brand.
This is the story of two brothers who took on the established entertainment industry, succeeded for a while — and then almost went out of business when the dot com market crashed.
