I wouldn’t bet against MySpace . I know many of their founders and early employees, and one of the co-founders of Intermix (the parent company of MySpace) is an investor. MySpace has lost the battle as the “place for friends”. The following are my 7 Ways on How to Save MySpace

Los Angeles-based MySpace launched its MySpace Music service last night, the firm's joint venture with EMI Music, SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, and Sony ATV/ Music Publishing. Los Angeles-based MySpace said today that independent music distributor IODA will provide its catalog to MySpace music. According to MySpace, the partnership with IODA--the Independent Online Distribution Alliance--will add over one million new songs to its platform. IODA is a digital distribution company which helps record labels negotiate licenses, encode data, and track royalties. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The current huge players (MySpace, Facebook, etc.) Content is often a defining mechanism to create these networks. Los Angeles-based MySpace announced a lineup of advertisers who will be sponsoring the firm's new MySpace Music site this morning, saying that it has signed four brands who will be integrated sponsors of the site. According to MySpace, McDonald's, Sony Pictures, State Farm, and Toyota will sponsor the site, which offers music videos, track downloads, information about music, and other music-related information. According to MySpace, McDonald's will have a presence on its music player and through free downloads; Sony will link its Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist comedy; State Farm will be branded throughout the web site; and Toyota will offer free music downloads and highlighting on Tuesdays in its music player.
