Irvine-based semiconductor manufacturer Broadcom has shipped a new, Quad 10GBASE-T PHY, the company announced this morning. The firm said the transceiver is the second generation of its 10GBASE-T PHYs, and offers up 50 percent lower power in what it says is the industry's smallest footprint.
