It was a great time to start a sports memorabilia company. We quickly built upon our meager initial capital by buying and selling cards that otherwise would likely have ended up in landfills. The advent of investors and grading services drove up the demand for near-perfect cards while suppressing the value of all other cards.
In 1933, baseball card collectors were frustrated. For some reason, they found it impossible to complete their Goudy Gum 240-card set.

If this gentleman was such a pivotal player in the early days of the PC revolution, why is he essentially unknown to most entrepreneurs under forty years old?
Few young entrepreneurs know about Mr. Computer Motion, a medical robotics startup which we took public in 1997 and was later sold to Intuitive Surgical, developed a collegial corporate culture in its early days, similar to Digital Research. At this time, we have ten startups, and are starting to click and do some exciting things. who founded AdECN in Carpinteria, which was bought by Microsoft, is starting his second venture, Trade Desk, which is in stealth mode at the event, there's Netplenish.com, headed by Dave Compton, who founded Aqua Scientific, has a bitoech firm On Thursday, the City of Ventura is formally launching a new incubator, the Ventura Ventures Technology Center (www.v2tc.com), targeted at high tech businesses.

I recently read a post over on VentureHacks titled, “ Top Ten Reasons Entrepreneurs Hate Lawyers ” written by Scott Walker (who blogs on legal issues for entrepreneurs ). If you’re a startup and you don’t have a close relationship with a few law firms you’re really missing one of the most important relationships that any entrepreneur can have.
I know that people have an allergy to lawyers out of fear of being screwed. Much of this is unfounded – some is not.

Entrepreneurship is so highly valued in the Western World that some people try to convince themselves that they are an entrepreneur, when in fact they would be better off at a Big Dumb Company (“BDC”). These would-be entrepreneurs are best classified as Wantrepreneurs, as discussed in Entrepreneurial Enterviewing .
