What's the story behind the company--I understand this started at UCSD? They got an NSF grant, and basically started up the original web site, as a video web site. Marc Friedmann: I was actually brought in about a year after they started. For people who haven't visited SciVee, what's the site about? Thanks!

I'll be speaking (yes, yours truly) on “Effective Networking for Entrepreneurs” at the GroundUP Business Group 's Tuesday, March 9th 7-8:30pm, at Zephyr Coffee House, 2419 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107. Attire ranged from t-shirts and jeans to button-up shirts with coats, with a handful of some funkier attire. Interesting?

Francisco Dao came up with the idea of letting 10 companies that weren’t selected for Twiistup to do a presentation the night before to a group of people and let the audience pick one company to win the final slot at Twiistup. I’ll put up the video when they post it on their website. Stories have starts, middles and ends.

I paid up for the diploma but can’t say that I saw better results. So back to MBAs.

entrepreneur August 6, 2008 I’ve been sitting in a few meetings lately where the dilemma of the local universities of getting technology developed there into industry has surfaced a few times: finding entrepreneurs. 8212; but there’s not a corresponding huge number of startups being created from those universities.
