I’ve been engaged with social networking for some time now, starting with Myspace and Facebook and just recently (within the last 30 days), Twitter. responded to his tweet, we chatted on the phone and he asked me to co-host the event on Dec 14th, 2010. As a board member of the Technology Council of Southern California (now an official sponsor of the event), I first reached out to my fellow board members. I’ve jumped on the bandwagon, big time! I

On Thursday, December 11th from 5:00pm to 10:00pm, the Digital Family Reunion (DFR) is bringing the Southern California technology and business communities together for the holidays at the Skirball Cultural Center. In association with some of the region’s top trade associations and social networking groups, the DFR is throwing the holiday party of the millennium… so far! Howdy Campers!
Digital Family Reunion is bringing all of the LA Tech/Business/Media scene together next month, for a nice holiday party at the Skirball Center!

She is a go to person for me when I have questions around technology or early stage marketing and branding. I hadn't talked to her in a while and then because of a presentation I did around Social Media for Service Professionals she and I reconnected. So cheer up everybody, this too will pass. The firm used to be called Fotouhi Alonso and were one of LA's top mid-sized agencies for 20 years, working with clients like Honda, Epson, the LA DWP, and the FX Network. I've known Farida for quite a while. Maybe ten years.

Southern California's top startups showed up in force Friday at the Westin South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, for the Technology Council of Southern California's annual VentureNet conference. (socalTECH The day started with a keynote by John Suh of Legalzoom.com, and topped off with a pitch from David Sacks -- CEO of Geni.com, and also CEO of Geni spinoff Yammer.com, which recently won the top prize at the TechCrunch50-- plus a question and answer session which had Matt Coffin, founder of LowerMyBills, grilling Internet technology celebrity Jason Calacanis.

We recently ran into Dialplus (www.dialplus.net), a company which is developing mobile applications which pull up social networking profiles from Facebook or other sites when you make a phone call to a friend. The company's mobile applications use the phone number you are dialing to pull up information about the person you are talking to, displaying their profile or social networking information on your cell phone.
