My main points were: Social Everywhere - I work with a lot of different shapes and sizes of companies and it's interesting how each one has opportunities to leverage its users to form different kinds of communities, create connections, encourage contribution, etc. I would guess that there was about 100 people - on a Saturday in Pasadena. That shows some interest in the topic.

One of the fastest ways to get someone’s attention, to help secure them

wrote recently about etiquette when you meet people at conferences or events so now that I have this done I feel I need to say some words about connecting on social networks. Let’s start with a discussion of existing social networks and then how to approach people on them. A recent discussion about what critical mass is for a social network site started me thinking about the difference between tipping points and critical mass. It is many times tied to an event that adds a missing catalyst or critical amount of energy to achieve a self sustaining reaction. Technically both are defined in similar words (sometimes considered synonymous), but they do have different connotations. A tipping point can be defined as “the culmination of a build-up of small changes that effects a big change”.
