To underscore the point about entrepreneurs coming out of LA-based companies, there is a growing diaspora of talented former MySpace/Intermix executives who have gone on to found or build other companies all over the southland: Richard Rosenblatt (Demand Media), Brett Brewer (AdKnowledge), Josh Berman and Colin Digiaro (Slingshot Labs), Jason Feffer (SodaHead), Adam Goldenberg and Don Ressler (Intelligent Beauty), Amit Kapur (Gravity), and so forth. It will be exciting to see what they can accomplish, but I think its challenging to get the same level of exposure in tech business media

No updates for Networking & Social Media Job Search Webinars, Teleconferences and Podcasts . Seems more than a bit irreverent - check out their About and FAQ pages. To contribute to the education of the broader public through its publications, online presence and media partnerships. Weekly updates! Please let me know if know of other items to add, or if you have any feedback on events. There's a promising new weekly morning networking event unlike any I've seen.

Standalone URI shorteners work fine when you want to shorten mostly foreign URIs, but that’s a crappy approach when you want to submit your own stuff to social media. During the last year, I’ve spoken to numerous investor relations officers (IROs) on the topic of social media and investor relations. Update your FAQ’s or create a blog and use this as fodder. Simply write out the questions you receive on a regular basis along with the answers you provide, post within your existing FAQs or blog and direct callers to the website.
IROs tend to be the last holdouts within a company’s communication teams to embrace changes in the communications process. Holding out is usually blamed on two reasonable excuses:
