Google's new Ad Manager technology will soon enable premium ad banners to be sold directly to advertisers by publishers and when the clicks are used up on the premium ads it will revert automatically to use Google Adsense. Clicks are usually sold via banners and text ads at a 2x to 4x premium cutting out Google. Los Angeles has a vast ecosystem This is a brilliant move and will further accelerate the gap between premium content and generic publishers who don't provide any unique content value. I

Los Angeles-based genealogy and family networking site Geni has rolled out a new "Family Finder" feature, the firm said Friday, allowing users to import addresses from Microsoft Outlook, web email programs like Google's Gmail and Yahoo, or other sources. Geni operates a Web 2.0 web According to Geni, the new feature will look through your address book and select anyone that the company's software thinks is related to you. The new feature also allows Geni users to invite other contacts to share photos, videos, and events.
