San Diego-based OnTech , a maker of self-heating coffee and other beverages, has gone under, according to the firm's web site. The firm was venture backed by GRP Partners, Fort Washignton Investment Advisors, and DFJ Frontier. According to OnTech online store, the firm shut down on November 8th. OnTech made canned beverages which used quicklime and water self-heating technology to warm up drinks by just pulling a tab, and were distributed through Wal-Mart, Kroger, Sam's Club, and other retailers.
