I love learning first hand about the differences in analytics platforms, social media conversion, the effectively of copy, how to cultivate an audience, etc.  Mostly For what it’s worth I’m a socially (very) liberal, fiscally-moderate libertarian that isn’t easily defined by the party system.  When I made my point a bit too sarcastically, which probably doesn’t help the debate. I did a presentation about the use of Social Media to a great group of people who mostly are different kinds of service professionals (attorneys, accountants, consultants, etc.). I'm hoping that others will help point me to other resources around this topic. A few things we discussed: Focus . I looked at a couple of specific examples, where I ask for help from my followers. I can't find them listed on any kind of social site. They really need to take a look at how Twiistup , Mixergy and others are doing to both promote and help make their events better for attendees. A while ago I posted about Secret for Networking at Events - Prenetworking where I recommended that people should look at who's attending the event prior to going to the event in order to make their networking more effective. I've received a lot of positive feedback on the post.
During the last year, I’ve spoken to numerous investor relations officers (IROs) on the topic of social media and investor relations.  One of my favorite examples of companies using their blog to help ward off stock affecting rumors is Cisco .  It is my hope that other IROs will take a second look at how their company website and even a company blog can be used to help IROS throughout their many daily tasks, clarifying reputation IROs tend to be the last holdouts within a company’s communication teams to embrace changes in the communications process.  Holding out
