I started out as screenwriter, went into local television, ran ad sales in the west for AOL and joined Facebook in the companies very early days. My management book, Ignited, was released in 2007 and serves a guide and champion for middle managers. Today I lead a small consultancy that helps advertising supported develop and scale the revenue producing sides of their businesses. I’m sick of the usual interviews with Tim Ferriss , which waste time arguing over whether it’s possible to work four hours a week. What I want to know is how Tim got so many people to talk about him and his book, The Four Hour Work Week , and how he made his book into a New York Times Best Seller.

One of my favorite examples of companies using their blog to help ward off stock affecting rumors is Cisco . It is my hope that other IROs will take a second look at how their company website and even a company blog can be used to help IROS throughout their many daily tasks, clarifying reputation messaging, strengthening stock stability, better relationships with core audiences and even give a few hours a week back to the IRO.

So the key question is: How can I leverage my network? The other day I was in a meeting and was using one of my favorite productivity tools, RoboForm, and someone looked over my shoulder and asked me about it. We got to talking and I realized that I am addicted to a bunch of tools - some of which you may know about and some of which you may not know about. I hope you find the following list helpful!

San Diego-based KidZui, a venture-backed startup which develops a kid-safe Internet browser, said Monday that it has added new social networking features and homework help to the firm's suite of services. In addition, KidZui rolled out a homework help tool which allows kids to find information about subjects they are studying at school. According to KidZui, the new KidZui--which is venture backed by Maveron, Emergence Capital Partners and First Round Capital--said that it will let kids aged 3-12 keep up and connect with their friends, express feelings and opinions, and share content.

Other thoughts on the value of blogging: Value of Blogging - Thanks Tracy , Common Questions and Some Thoughts Around Blogs and Blogging , Top Ten Reasons To Blog and Top Ten Not to Blog . But from a value perspective, it really comes down to the numbers I showed for my eLearning Technology blog. Over the past 12 months, I've had roughly 284,000 people come visit that site and get exposed to things I write. I'm hoping that others will help
