Woodland Hills-based ReachLocal filed for an IPO this morning, saying that it is looking to raise up to $100M. ReachLocal operates a service which helps small businesses place online advertising. The firm's IPO is being underwritten by J.P. Morgan, BofA Merrill Lynch, citi, Piper Jaffray, Needham & Company, and Broadpoint.Gleacher.

Woodland Hills-based FatTail, a developer of software for online advertising management, said today that it has appointed Ali Bohra as Vice President of Product Management. FatTail is developing advertising optimization software to help publishers automate the process of buying and selling online advertising. Fattail, which is venture backed by Velocity Interactive Group, Ted Meisel, and others, said that Bohra joins the firm from IAC. Bohra was Directof Operations at IAC.
Woodland Hills-based ReachLocal announced Wednesday that the firm has expanded into Canada, and opened up a new sales office in Toronto for its online marketing services. The venture-backed firm, which helps small and medium sized businesses place Internet advertising, said that its first Canadian location will cater to local businesses in the Greater Toronto area. Woodland Hills-based ReachLocal , which helps small businesses buy search engine advertising, has inked a strategic alliance with Google in the United Kingdom, the firm announced today. ReachLocal said that it has become an "Authorised Reseller" of Google's AdWords in the UK, through its UK site, ReachLocal UK . ReachLocal opened up its UK office in London in November, as it looks to expand internationally.

Woodland Hills-based FatTail , a developer of software tools for publishers to manage their advertising sales efforts, said over the weekend that the firm has launched a new product, PageGage RAFT, which will allow publishers automatically buy search traffic. According to the firm, the new tool combines ad contract data and website content information to help publishers boost traffic to fulfill their advertising contracts. The firm's product creates keywords and links into search engines to drive more visitors to specific pages on a publisher's website, so that the meet the traffic goals of their advertisers, who typically commit to a certain ad budget and impressions--all which are driven by web page traffic.
Woodland Hills-based Gumiyo , which develops tools for enabling mobile web sites, has scored a new customer. Gumiyo develops tools which helps businesses deliver their information to mobile phones, including ways to deliver information via SMS, connect classifieds information to text messages, and more. According to accounting and advisory firm CNM LLP, it has partnered with Gumiyo to deliver collateral, advertisements, business cards, and other media via SMS from its web sites. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Woodland Hills-based FatTail , the online advertising firm venture backed by Velocity Interactive Group, announced this morning that the firm has rolled out PageGage, a new product which helps to optimize online ad sales operations for publishers. According to FatTail, the new software provides yield management, automated inventory forecasting and sales proposal generation for publishers. The new software expands FatTail's target market beyond the top tier publishers who are using the firm's existing AdBook online ad sales and operations software.
