Irvine-based RFaxis , a developer of semiconductors for the mobile phone and wireless markets, said earlier this week that it added Malachy Moynihan, Vice President of Video Product Strategy at Cisco, to its board of advisors. Moynihan has been at Cisco since June of 2000, when Cisco acquired InfoGear Technology. RFaxis is headed by MIke Neshat.

San Diego-based b>EMN8 , a developer of order taking kiosks for the fast food industry, has raised $14.4M in a funding round, according to a regulatory filing by the firm this week. The funding has not been announced by the company. EMN8 is backed by GRP Partners, Sid R.

Los Angeles-based private equity firm OpenGate Capital announced today that it has acquired Philips Business Communications (PBC), a leading provider of telecommunication and data solutions in Brazil. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. OpenGate said it acquired PBC from global technology firm Philips.
Marina Del Rey-based AuctionPoint , which operates an online service for helping property brokers auction off commercial real estate, has received a strategic investment from LoopNet , LoopNet said today. San Francisco-based LoopNet operates an online commercial real estate marketplace. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.
Long Beach-based Apriso , a developer of manufacturing software, reported today that it has linked with Dassault Systemes, a developer of 3D and product lifecycle management software. Apriso said it has signed a Component Application Architecture (CAA) Software Partnership Agreement with Dassault, which will allow the firm to integrate its applications and Dassault's DELMIA Digital Manufacturing solutions.
