Los Angeles-based Mobile-XL , the international mobile information services firm backed by the Tech Coast Angels, said this week that it has linked a deal with Oberthur Technologies to include its XLBrowser Content Platform on Oberthur's line of SIM cards. The firms said that including Mobile-XL's software on its SIM cards will give Oberthur's customers access to new, sports, yellow pages, education, and other content. Santa Monica-based Jacked , a developer of second-screen, companion applications for TV broadcasts, has been acquired by Roundbox , a New Jersey-based developer of mobile broadcast software. Jacked developed software which provided real time information--statistics, data, web content, and other information--synchronized with sports and other broadcasts. Pasadena-based X1 Technologies , the document indexing and search software firm backed by Idealab, disclosed this morning that it has released two upgrades to its software. Among the updates is a new release of its X1 Profesisonal Client software, and a new versino of its connector to the Symantec Enterprise Vault product. X1's search software is targeted at enterprise customers, and indexes and allows X1 said the new update of its client adds improvements for IBM Lotus Notes and Mozilla Thunderbird; the updated connector provides faster results searching Symantec's archiving product.
Los Angeles-based SOA Software, which develops software for the enterprise SOA market, said today that the firm has partnered with Compuware, a provider of software and services for the IT market. SOA software develops products used to manage and build service-oriented-architecture (SOA) projects; Compuware will provide expertise and services in the mainframe industry.
