According to the USPTO, the patent covers a technique to allow standard telephone users to audio conference with video conferencing participants over IP networks. Meetrix was represented by Kerr IP Group in the patent filing. Los Angeles-based Meetrix , a developer of an online virtual conference room service, said today that it has granted a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark office.

A reminder that it is important for all entrepreneurs is to remember to be careful about “deal drift.” I I think the perfect saying to have as a reminder is “time is the enemy of all deals,” or as my wife is all too tired of hearing me say, “Don’t pop the champagne until the ink is dry on the contract and the money is in the bank.”
