was recently interviewed for an article that appeared in Fast Company titled, “ Why you should start a business in LA .” 8221; If you’re interested in the topic it’s worth a read, but I thought I’d elaborate on the topic since it comes up all the time.
If we extend a bit North up the coast line we have many affiliate marketing innovators including ValueClick, Commission Junction and FastClick. They Los Angeles. People People either love it our hate it. All

Individuals use social networking sites such as LinkedIn and Plaxo as career-advancing tools, even more useful in a down economy. A 12 - year veteran of the online world, he has worked in sales, business development and content partnership functions for Yahoo!, He has been the CTO for several start-ups, most notably eHarmony. Last week, I had the pleasure of attending a small panel discussion between Jason Green (General Partner at Emergence Capital and investor in companies such as DoubleClick, aQuantive, and Ask Jeeves) and Reid Hoffman (Founder of LinkedIn, EVP at Paypal, and angel investor in over 60 startups such as Facebook, IronPort, Flickr, and Digg).
During the panel, the question of market vs team in venture/angel investing came up. Jason was in the “team” camp while Reid was more in “market” camp – but these are very broad generalizations and both emphasized the importance of both in any investment they make.

Our startup interview this morning is with Josh Stomel , founder of ResumeBucket (www.resumebucket.com), a new web site that is focused on helping people share their resumes with the world. Stomel--who is bootstrapping the startup from his recruiting firm, NeoHire--explained the site to us.

People are using email, IM, soc nets like LinkedIn and Facebook, SMS, and video chat -- all of these are really places to communicate. We pull your Yahoo, business accounts, Gmail, and other accounts and pull them into Orgoo. Video chat is one of the next things and is starting to take off, since almost every computer you buy now either has a camera on a laptop or desktop. There are a lot of users, with lots of different email and instant messaging accounts, who are finding that there are too many ways to communicate with their friends and associates.
