Please let me know if know of other items to add, or if you have any feedback on events. There's a promising new weekly morning networking event unlike any I've seen. Troop 90210 this Wednesday morning at the Electric Fountain in Beverly Hills: Walk and network! plan to be there. My friend Mark Long recently asked me about networking in Los Angeles. This past couple years, I have been doing a ton of networking. Rather than write something just for Mark, I thought I would let everybody else know what the good, tech-oriented networking events are in Los Angeles. For the tech-oriented networker, Mark is a CTO, see, and his company, PortBlue , was recently acquired (congrats, Mark!). After transitioning to the new team, Mark was left to wonder, what now?

A new, online social network and dating site, Lawdate.com , based in Los Angeles, said today that it is hoping to match up lawyers with dates with its new web service. The site, the first niche dating site of firm The Dolce Network , calls itself the "attorney dating system," and gives singles opportunities to connect not only based on traditional interests and personality traits--but also practice specialty. Yammer, a Twitter-like spinout out of high profile Los Angeles genealogy firm Geni.com, has scored the top prize at the TechCrunch50 awards in San Francisco.
