We thought today for our interview, that we'd get an update on the angel investment environment here in Southern California from Scott Sangster , the incoming President of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Tech Coast Angels , the biggest angel investment group in Southern California. San Diego-based BrightQube, an angel-backed stock photo search site, has updated its web services to make it easier for photo buyers to find images. According to BrightQube, the changes are intended to help simplify the process of buying stock photographs--photos which are licensed by photography providers for use in publications, marketing, web sites, and other uses. The firm is angel backed by the Tech Coast Angels and the Pasadena BrightQube rolled out its new web site earlier this week, adding such features as pop-up search tips, new navigation options, filtering, and other features.

What does the market meltdown mean for angel investors? These are the issues angels and entrepreneurs want to hear about. Have angel investors been so heavily impacted that the terms for entrepreneurs who do get funded will become too onerous?
After a week like last week, many angels will be recalibrating their risk tolerance. Will they keep writing checks or sit on their wallets? And how will they protect their recently funded portfolio companies now that the world economy has changed?

LeisureLink, which provides online distribution and marketing of vacation lodging, said that it will offer consumer rewards and loyalty programs that can be used for vacation travel and merchandise. LeisureLink's vacation property service markets vacation rentals, timeshares and other properties through online travel sites and travel agents. The company is venture backed by Clearstone Pasadena-based LeisureLink has signed on a loyalty and incentive company, Destination Rewards, as part of its travel services, the firm said earlier this week. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
