San Diego-based cloud storage provider Nirvanix has added a new customer of the firm's storage service, Nasuni , a Massachusetts startup providing virtual file server software. Nirvanix is a provider of a cloud storage service targeted at enterprises and web application developers; Nasuni develops a virtual network attached storage (NAS) file server that runs on VMware. San Diego-based personalized Internet radio service Slacker announced yesterday that it has linked with The Source Magazine, to launch an online, Hip-Hop radio station. Slacker is venture backed by Austin Ventures, Centennial Ventures, Mission Ventures, Rho Ventures, and Sevin Rosen Funds. Slacker said it would power The Source Digital Radio, a hip-hop station linked with The Source's print magazine and online web site. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

San Diego-based ID Analytics , a developer of software used by financial institutions and other companies to detect identity fraud, said this morning that it has launched a new, public service called MyIDScore.com , to help consumers figure out their risk for identity fraud. According to ID Analytics, the new service helps consumers assess their risk of identity fraud, and figure out if other people are using their name, Social Security number, address, or phone number. The firm said that consumers who use the new service will get a statistical score from the company on their risk for identity fraud; the firm is also looking to provide the consumer service as a branded offering for companies.

San Diego-based Slacker , the personalized Internet radio service backed by Mission Ventures, Austin Ventures, Centennial Ventures, Rho Ventures, and Sevin Rosen Funds, reported Thursday that it has expanded its service into Canada. Slacker said that it has expanded its service to Canada through its web site, along with free applications for BlackBerry and Android phones. The firm claimed it is the first, and only personal radio service available for Canadian listeners, and came after getting agreements in place with key content owners in the country.

San Diego-based digital music service Slacker released a new, iPhone version of the firm's Internet radio service this morning through Apple's App Store this morning, making the firm's Internet radio service available through the iPhone and iPod touch.
