Nirvanix is a provider of a cloud storage service targeted at enterprises and web application developers; Nasuni develops a virtual network attached storage (NAS) file server that runs on VMware. Slacker said it would power The Source Digital Radio, a hip-hop station linked with The Source's print magazine and online web site. Slacker said the radio station will be featured on TheSource's web site, as well as as in a spotlight section on its mobile application. Slacker is venture backed by Austin Ventures, Centennial Ventures, Mission Ventures, Rho Ventures, and Sevin Rosen Funds. San Diego-based personalized Internet radio service Slacker announced yesterday that it has linked with The Source Magazine, to launch an online, Hip-Hop radio station.

The firm said it is launching a "Celebrity Fantasy League" game on US Weekly's web site. RotoHog is powering fantasy sports and other games for such partners as Disney/ABC, BA.com, NASCAR.com, LG Electronics, and others; the firm is venture backed by Allen & Co, Mission Ventures, DFJ Dragon and Sports Capital Partners Worldwide. Los Angeles-based RotoHog , the online fantasy game developer run by Kelly Perdew , said this week that it is in a strategic partnership with US Weekly. Financial impact of the win was not disclosed.

VMIX said that Scion will launch a new web site, www.ScionAV.com , using the firm's media management and delivery tools. VMIX is venture backed by JK&B Capital and ATA Ventures, Mission Ventures and Enterprise Partners.

The firm operates a personalized Internet radio service, which is tied to both a Web-based music player and a hardware device tied to Slacker's web service. San Diego-based music startup Slacker has apparently lost its CEO, according to a report from VentureWire . VentureWire said it confirmed the departure of Dennis Mudd with an investor in the company.

San Diego-based Slacker , the personalized Internet radio service backed by Mission Ventures, Austin Ventures, Centennial Ventures, Rho Ventures, and Sevin Rosen Funds, reported Thursday that it has expanded its service into Canada. Slacker said that it has expanded its service to Canada through its web site, along with free applications for BlackBerry and Android phones. The firm claimed it is the first, and only personal radio service available for Canadian listeners, and came after getting agreements in place with key content owners in the country.
