Irvine-based Paragon Software , a developer of data storage and mobile software, said this week that it has release a NTFS driver for the Mac OS X operating system. The new drivers allows Macintosh computers to access drives formatted in NTFS, the native format of Windows PCs. Paragon said the new software is aimed at making it easier for Mac users to access and share data with Windows computers.

Los Angeles-based TrueCar , the online car pricing site run by Scott Painter, said today that it has launched a mobile version of its site. According to the company, the new site runs on Apple iPhone, BlackBerry, and other web-enabled mobile devices. Costa Mesa-based Tickets.com, a provider of ticketing products and software, has expanded its service into the mobile market. The firm said today that it has launched ProvenueMobile, a mobile version of the firm's consumer-facing website. The firm said the new offering will allow users to buy tickets from a mobile phone. Tickets.com also said it will be offering the technology to its clients in early 2009. The new mobile phone support can be used by smart phones such as the Blackberry, iPhone, and Treo, along with other cell phones with Internet access.
Los Angeles-based wireless software publisher Mobile-XL reported Thursday that it is partnering with Venice-based mobile video messaging firm Mogreet . According to Mobile-XL, both companies have committed resources toward developing a mobile messaging platform. Mogreet operates a mobile greeting card service which sends short video snippets to mobile phones. Mobile-XL develops mobile browser software and information services. Mobile-XL noted that the two companies plan to unveil the collaboration in a few select markets later this year.

The Associated Press has reported traffic information for the firm's mobile service, the AP Mobile News Network, saying that it received more than 16 million page view for the month of August, with 948 news organizations providing content to the mobile offering. The service--which is being powered by Encinitas-based Verve Wireless--is the AP's attempt to establish a beachhead in the mobile market, and to establish new outlet for news and information from the AP's newspaper members.
