Alec Shankman: Gotcast is the largest online interactive casting platform. But, we were able to into a huge event that we partnered with Lifetime and MySpace on, and we got 50,000 girls to try out in less than a week, with hundreds of thousands of people online as voters and fans, and we had millions of impressions surrounding the event. So our goal is to grow that, and make that as exciting and as helpful of a platform as possible for anybody and everybody who wants to get involved in Hollywood.
Thanks!
Alec Shankman is CEO of Santa Monica-based Gotcast (www.gotcast.com), an online site focused on casting of actors for television shows, movies, and other productions.

I wouldn’t bet against MySpace . I know many of their founders and early employees, and one of the co-founders of Intermix (the parent company of MySpace) is an investor. MySpace has lost the battle as the “place for friends”. The following are my 7 Ways on How to Save MySpace

The current huge players (MySpace, Facebook, etc.) Leverage an existing platform We've created Facebook applications and used Ning. If you think about this abstractly, the goal is for all of us to provide grouping and content as a layer on top of a general social graph platform. Last Saturday, I was a panelist at the CalTech - Social Networks event. It was a really good event with lots of interesting folks in attendance.
