The Tech Coast Angels is stressing its mixer program, seed investment efforts, and a new website, as it kicks off a 2010 program, according to the angel investing group. According to the Tech Coast Angels' Richard Sudek, Chairman of the TCA, the group is looking to hold bi-monthly mixers which will help entrepreneurs connect with its angel investors, after a successful mixer in late 2009. The group also said it is focusing on its SeedTrack program, which is specifically focused on seed stage funding and extensive mentoring. The angel group

The Tech Coast Angels is having its first ever "entrepreneur happy hour", and I would like to invite you to attend - something new for Orange County. Come down and hang with us, the Angels at TCA, and let's chat about your business plan or anything you want to know about Tech Coast Angels at our newly formed "TCA Entrepreneur Happy Hours". The goal is to create an open forum in which local Orange County entrepreneurs can have easy and informal access to TCA angels.
The Orange County Chapter of the Tech Coast Angels is promoting a program to help jumpstart small companies, O.C. Tech Coast Angels, the new program will provide seed funding, strategic planning, and execution of day-to-day functions of startups. The San Diego branch of the Tech Coast Angels launched their own TCA Seed Track effort way back in December of 2006, initially focused on both technology SeedTrack, building off of earlier efforts by the group's San Diego and other chapters. Sid Mohasseb, one of the Tech Coast Angels, just emailed out about a new “entrepreneur happy hour” the group is running in Orange County, which got me thinking about how entrepreneurs should (or shouldn’t) approach angel and venture investors. I’m sure there are many opinions out there, but based on my time working with angels and investors, here’s some of my random advice for would-be entrepreneurs going to the event (or similar ones): 1. Irvine-based Bikestation , a developer of facilities for bicycle commuting, has scored an investment from the Tech Coast Angels angel investment group, the TCA said this morning. According to the Orange County arm of the Tech Coast Angels, the investment was led by Raulee Marcus. Amount of the investment in Bikestation was not announced. Bikestation develops infrastructure, including lockers, changing facilities, showers, and repair services, to help people ride and park their bicycles.
