MySpace said that the data has been available through the MySpace Developer Platform, and allows software to pull publicly available, real-time data such as status updates, or when a user adds music, photos, or videos to their profile. Los Angeles-based MySpace , under fire for selling its user data, said today that it is not selling its data. The firm said that its data is already available--free of charge--to third party developers, as well as such services as Google and its real-time search; and that it only shares data that users have made public.

Los Angeles-based Mobile-XL , the international mobile information services firm backed by the Tech Coast Angels, said this week that it has linked a deal with Oberthur Technologies to include its XLBrowser Content Platform on Oberthur's line of SIM cards. The firms said that including Mobile-XL's software on its SIM cards will give Oberthur's customers access to new, sports, yellow pages, education, and other content. San Diego-based DivX announced today that it has released a new, updated version of its video player software for the Windows platform. According to DivX, its DivX Plus Software, which is available for free, has been "completely redesigned," and now supports DivX Plus HD video, easier transfer of videos to DivX Certified devices, an enhanced Codec pack for Windows Media Player, HD support in web browsers, as well as a new video converter application supporting 1080p HD content. According to the company, it has expanded its product to allow agencies to build and manage their own communities using its software.
