LiveOffice said its products were selected over competitors MessageOne, Mimosa Systems NearPoint and Symantec Enterprise Vault. Tags: liveoffice email archiving saas compliance enterprise softwar Torrance-based LiveOffice , a provider of email archiving and compliance software-as-a-service, reported Monday that the firm has signed on magazine publisher Source Interlink. The firm said that Source Interlink, which has more than 7,000 employees and three major operating divisions, will use the firm for email archiving.

SaaS > desktop software It recently occurred to me that I use SaaS almost exclusively.  Now, almost everything SaaS is turnkey and can be used by anyone with a browser. What emerging, office productivity tools / methods have you started using? After almost 3 years at Momentum, I’m rounding the corner on my final week.  I’m headed back to school full-time this fall, so for the last several days, I’ve focused on winding down and transitioning myriad projects.

Most often at the earliest point in the life of a startup, the dominant need is certainly to produce product to get something in the market, get funding, etc. I understand the desire for hiring someone who is going to product product. Productivity - With all the focus on social streams, what happens to productivity?  I’m increasingly using web/mobile productivity apps – and I’m working on a cool one too.  Bad products with great distribution can make a bigger dent than great products with no distribution (but the truly ground breaking stuff tends to find its way to the top – e.g. I’ve been extremely busy lately so haven’t had a lot of time to blog (maybe when I retire).  But here are a few things I’m thinking about. 
Pasadena-based FastSoft , the Caltech spinout developing Internet acceleration devices, disclosed earlier this week that it has rolled out a new product. The firm said it is targeting hosting, SaaS, social network, content distribution networks, and cloud computing companies with the hardware. Pricing on the new product was not released. The firm said its new E Series EX accelerator now supports 10Gbps throughput, and accelerates TCP traffic 2 to 5 times. FastSoft is venture backed by Miramar Venture Partners, Caltech, and angel investors.
Thousand Oaks-based Servoy , a developer of software for creating web-based applications, said Friday that the firm has upgraded its products.
