San Diego-based Anametrix , a new business analytics software firm headed by Blaise Barrelet, founder of WebSideStory, announced this morning that it has acquired Nordic Research Corporation , a business analytics technology firm. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Anametrix said that the founder of Nordic Research, Anders Olsson, joins the company as Chief Technical Officer.

San Diego-based Fallbrook Technologies , a developer of continuous variable planetary transmissions being applied to the electric vehicle and other markets, is tapping a Chinese manufacturer for its products, the company said today. Fallbrook said it is using Tri-Star Group to manufacturer its Nuvici continuously variable planetary (CVP) transmission, beginning in Q2 2010. Business arrangements behind the manufacturing agreement were not announced.

SOMARK Innovations , a firm which is developing chipless, RFID tattoo technology used for animal identification, is setting up shop in San Diego, the firm disclosed earlier this month.
