San Diego-based cloud storage provider Nirvanix has added a new customer of the firm's storage service, Nasuni , a Massachusetts startup providing virtual file server software. Nirvanix is backed by Intel Capital, Valhalla Partners, Mission Ventures, Windward Ventures, and the European Founders Fund. Nasuni said it is using Nirvanix to provide its customers with unlimited cloud capacity. San Diego-based cloud storage firm Nirvanix is further bolstering its focus on enterprise customers, saying today that it has partnered with enterprise storage software provider CommVault. Nirvanix is backed by Intel Capital, Valhalla Partners, Mission Ventures, Windward Ventures, and the European Founders Fund. According to the firms, CommVault has connected its Simpana backup and recovery and archiving software to Nirvanix, allowing CommVault's users to use the Nirvanix online storage service for backup and offsite storage. David Titus , a venture capitalist at Windward Ventures , has joined the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation as Managing Director, Strategic Initiatives, the nonprofit said yesterday. The San Diego EDC is a nonprofit helping to bolster businesses in the San Diego region, and said that Titus will help support the group in familiarizing company executives in San Diego with the group's mission, encourage them to grow in the region, and also look to attract and identify companies looking to expand and create jobs. Titus is a co-founder and Managing Director at Windward Ventures, which he co-founded with Jim Cole.

San Diego-based Nirvanix , a provider of Internet-based storage services, has raised $5M out of a $6M venture capital funding round, according to a regulatory filing. Nirvanix is venture backed by European Founders Fund, Intel Capital, Mission Ventures, Valhalla Partners, and Windward Ventures. The filing, which was filed Friday, said that the funding came April 3rd. Details of the funding were not disclosed.

San Diego-based Nirvanix confirmed today that the firm has raised $5M in a new venture funding round. According to the firm, the new round came from original investors Intel Capital, Mission Ventures, Valhalla Partners, and Windward Ventures. The funding was first covered by socalTECH M last week . According to Nirvanix, the funding brings the company's total raised to over $23M.

San Diego-based Nirvanix, a provider of storage-as-a-service, said Tuesday that the firm's technology is being used by video delivery firm Ooyala. Nirvanix is backed by European Founders Fund, Intel Capital, Mission Ventures, Valhalla Partners, and Windward Ventures. According to Nirvanix, Ooyala is using Nirvanix to help its customers store and manage HD-quality video. Financial impact of the partnership was not disclosed.

San Diego-based cloud storage services provider Nirvanix reported Tuesday that it has hired Chris Russell as vice president of engineering. Its backers include Intel Capital, Valhalla Partners, Mission Ventures, Windward Ventures and the European Founders Fund. Nirvanix described Russell as a longtime technology executive with more than 20 years of hands-on experience. Nirvanix said Russell hails from NextEngine, where he was vice president of technology.

San Diego-based Nirvanix, which operates an online, storage-as-a-service which competes against Amazon's S3 storage service, has shuffled its CEOs, the firm said today, replacing CEO Patrick Harr with Jim Zierick. Nirvanix is venture backed by European Founders Fund, Intel Capital, Mission Ventures, Valhalla Partners, and Windward Ventures. Nirvanix said that Harr is leaving to "pursue a new opportunity." Zierick was most recently CEO of Asprya, and also served as CEO of LogicalApps.
