Aliso Viejo-based Telogis , a provider of route planning and optimization tools, said Tuesday that it has expanded its agreement with digital map data provider NAVTEQ. Tags: telogis navteq digital data asset tracking trucking softwar The firms said that NAVTEQ's content, including real-time traffic information, historical average traffic speeds, and truck-specific information, will be used to enhance Telogis turn-by-turn navigation, route optimization, and resource tracking services. Financial details on the expanded agreement were not announced.

Los Angeles-based Magento Commerce , a developer of open source, e-commerce software tools, has raised $22.5M Tags: magento venture capital commerce ecommerce software shopping open sourc in an equity funding round, according to a regulatory filing by the firm today. Source of the new funding was not disclosed.

Lake Forest-based Nexiant , a developer of materials management software tools, announced this morning that it has named Michael Aghajanian to its board. Nexiant's software-as-a-service is used to control, management, and optimize industrial supply chains. Aghajanian was most recently CEO of supply chain firm PRTM, and also was founder of The Performance Measurement Group. Nexiant said that Aghajanian has over 25 years of experience in the field.

Los Angeles-based the Rubicon Project , a provider of Internet advertising optimization software and services, announced today that it has rolled out a new product which will automate the buying of online ad inventory. According to Rubicon, the new Rubicon OnDemand product will help advertising buyers precisely target audiences across its inventory. The new product allows advertisers to specifically target user demographics, including age, income, and gender; geographic locations; and also based on context and behavioral segments.

Pasadena-based X1 Technologies, a developer of desktop and enterprise search software, is setting its sights on the eDiscovery market, saying this morning that it has created a new offering specifically aimed at the eDiscovery market. The new tool is focused on helping companies who need to produce electronic documents, due to lawsuits. Cost X1 said it has built a solution, based on its X1 enterprise search technology and professional services, called X1 eDiscovery Search Suite. X1 said the new software will be available in late Q1, with early release available for preview to pre-qualified

Los Angeles-based magnify360, a provider of web page optimization tools, has lauched a new product for optimizing Google AdWords advertising, the firm announced today. Among features of the new tool are the ability to tie specific individual leads and customers to the keywords that generated their clicks, and ways to optimize landing pages for specific keywords and profiles. magnify360 said it will be adding magnify360 said its new Google Cost Optimizer automatically synchronizes with AdWords accounts, and provides campaign performance metrics to users about return on investment in individual keywords, cost per click, conversion rates, and other information.

But compared to my exit from consulting 3 years ago, this is MUCH easier due to the tools below (and more). This time, I’ve set up “drops” using one of my favorite tools, dropio (www.drop.io). SaaS > desktop software
After almost 3 years at Momentum, I’m rounding the corner on my final week. I’m headed back to school full-time this fall, so for the last several days, I’ve focused on winding down and transitioning myriad projects.

Santa Monica-based LIVESTRONG.COM , the online health site run by Demand Media in conjunction with the Lance Armstrong Foundation, announced this morning that it has launched a new online tool it is calling MyPlate D, for online nutrition tracking. LIVESTRONG.COM said the new tool is built on top of its existing, Daily Plate food database tool. The site is targeted at people with diabetes, to help them control the disease. According to the site, the new product allows users to track calories, fat, protein, and carbohydrates for more than 625,000 food items.
