The event, which is put on by the Technology Council of Southern California, allows companies to pitch what they’re doing to a panel and audience of investors. The deadline for the event is September 11th; past participants–even those who weren’t selected to present–have told me that the best part of the event is the screening and presentation process, which is run by pretty much every major and minor VC in Southern California. One of the better opportunities here for companies to approach investors, VentureNet , recently opened up applications for the event, and it’s well worth a look by any aspiring startups looking for funding.

Southern California is a hotbed of technology companies that are leaders in their sector. This includes MySpace, CitySearch, Ticketmaster, eHarmony, and thousands of lesser known technology companies.
high-tech community like this also has many bloggers and Web-based news outlets that cover our companies, venture capital, and events -- plus a number of advisers who help technologies entrepreneurial companies grow.
A It's been difficult to keep up on all aspects of the technology sector in Southern California.

It’s a big week for venture capital focused technology conferences, and Southern California startups — and we’re not done yet. Tomorrow is VentureNet in Costa Mesa, the Technology Council of Southern California’s annual venture pitching event, which promises to be an interesting local take on the venture capital conference.

Southern California's top startups showed up in force Friday at the Westin South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, for the Technology Council of Southern California's annual VentureNet conference.
