Los Angeles-based Clicker Media , the online video guide service funded by Benchmark Capital and Redpoint Ventures, said that it has linked with the University of California, Los Angeles, with a branded version of the service specifically for UCLA students. The site--which is run by Jim Lanzone , the former CEO of Ask.com--said that the partnership will provide both online entertainment and university video content through UCLA's web portal. Clicker said the UCLA on Clicker site will give UCLA students both access to original videos from UCLA, as well as access to other online entertainment from ABC, MTV, PBS, Hulu, YouTube, and other sites and sources.

In a conference on March 24, UCLA/CNSI launched a “technology incubator” – the first of its kind for UC – in conjunction with UCLA’s Office of Intellectual Property and Industry Sponsored Research (OIP-ISR). The UCLA on-campus technology incubator will be housed in the CNSI building and will offer four to five separate startup projects access to a total of 1,000 square feet of flexible lab space for 18 to 24 months. The event, held in the CNSI auditorium, brought together faculty entrepreneurs, representatives of industry startups and venture capital firms.

" UCLA microbiologist Wenyuan Shi collaborated with the research company C3 Jian to develop a therapeutic orange-flavored lollipop that is actually good for your teeth. Herbal treatments have been used in China for more than 3,000 years.
