Woodland Hills-based ReachLocal filed for an IPO this morning, saying that it is looking to raise up to $100M. The firm's IPO is being underwritten by J.P. Morgan, BofA Merrill Lynch, citi, Piper Jaffray, Needham & Company, and Broadpoint.Gleacher. Accoriding to ReachLocal, it had net income of $11.6M

A Woodland Hills-based liquidation firm is behind the closure of Circuit City's 567 stores, and will lead a group of firms who are operating "goiong out of business" sales at the retailer. Woodland Hills-based Great American Group is part of a joint venture that also includes SB Capital Group, LLC, Tiger Capital Group, LLC, and Hudson Capital Partners, LLC to operate the going-out-of-business sales at Circuit City's stores. Circuit City said Friday that it would close all of its stores across the country, and started liquidation sales this weekend. Great American Group

Woodland Hills-based United Online, which operates the Classmates.com reunion and social networking site, appears to be cutting back staff, according to sources close to the firm. Woodland Hills-based ReachLocal , which operates an online marketing service targeted at local businesses, is announcing today that it has purchase the remaining interest in the firm's Australian joint venture partner, Netus Pty Ltd. No financial details of the acquisition were disclosed. ReachLocal said it now owns all of its international operations, which include Canada, the UK, and Australia.

Woodland Hills-based FatTail, a developer of software for online advertising management, said today that it has appointed Ali Bohra as Vice President of Product Management. Fattail, which is venture backed by Velocity Interactive Group, Ted Meisel, and others, said that Bohra joins the firm from IAC. Bohra was Directof Operations at IAC.

Woodland Hills-based United Online disclosed on its quarterly earnings call late Wednesday that it is cutting 96 employees, as part of a move to increase efficiency and streamline operations at the firm. According to the firm, 71 of the employees are being cut from Classmates Media Segment, which includes Classmates.com, with the remaining 25 from its Communications Segment, which includes its dialup service. The cuts are equal to five percent of the firm's overall workforce.

Woodland Hills-based United Online is continuing to squeeze as many profits and customers out of its declining dial-up Internet access business as it can, saying this morning that its NetZero division has launched a new, toll free dialup plan targeted at people who do not have local connection numbers to connect to the Internet. NetZero said the firm targets the five percent of the United States where there are very limited options for local dial-up Internet service. The company said the new toll free plan will cost $19.95
